- Allerweltsname, schwer zu googeln (Hey, das kann ja passieren – aber es ist ja nicht das einzige Verdachtsmoment)
- ALLES GROSSBUCHSTABEN
- Der Text ist schon auf diversen Webseiten zitiert worden -> leicht zu googeln
Wie es eine Diskussionsteilnehmerin auf den Punkt bringt: “Also entweder ist Mr. White [bei mir Mr. Byan] völlig unfähig und mit der Aufgabe überfordert, oder er will Dich abziehen.”
Ich gehe mal von Vorschussbetrug/Scam aus.

habe ich dann auch noch einmal bestätigt und heute kam dann diese Mail:

Please remember that this business requires prompt response.
Habe natürlich heute den Kontakt abgebrochen, habe das ganze mit einem Bekannten von der Kripo besprochen, der Erfolg den Betrüger zu bekommen, sind leider gleich null. Das richt nicht nur nach Scheckbetrug, nee das stinkt schon danach. Spätestens wenn einer mit Scheck bezahlen will, klingeln die Alarmglocken, geht heute doch kostengünstig per Bank viel schneller.
Ich kann nur davor warnen, bin sonnst eigentlich nicht leichgläubig, da ja immer wieder Anfragen kommen, aber mit Scheck wollte noch nie jemand bezahlen. Habe dann heute dieses Forum gefunden und kann mich nur bedanken !!
Hoffe nur, das niemand auf den sauberen Dr. reinfällt.

Ich glaube der bezahlt mit/per Sheck die Rechnung. Einmal zuviel, und versucht dann anteilig das zu viel angezahltes zurückzubekommen.
Und Sheck storniert man bei der Bank später Rückzug. Und hat man n´bisschen mehr davon.

Auf solche Mails antworte ich grundsätzlich nicht. Es stellt sich aber immer wieder die Frage: Wer hat hier einen (finanziellen?) Vorteil und wie soll das gehen? Nun denn, es sei eben so.
Es gibt das so ein Schema: Tagung buchen, Hotel damit beauftragen ein teures Give-Away für die Teilnehmer zu bestellen, dieses wird vorab bezahlt, alles wir storniert, Hotel schickt Geld per Western Union Express zurück, Gauner macht seine Zahlung wieder rückgängig.
Ob diese Mails darauf abzielen, weiß ich nicht. Aber kann schon sein.

hab grad dieselbe anfrage ….
Der Sinn: Die Buchung der Zimmer/Wohnung wird kurzfristig storniert, aber “Mr. Bryan” bezahlt “großzügig” die Übernachtungskosten, in dem er dem Vermieter erlaubt, diese Übernachtungskosten von der Summe, über die der Scheck ausgestellt wurde, abzuziehen. Allerdings bittet er darum, dass man ihm die “Differenz” (Schecksumme minus Übernachtungskosten) auf ein Konto überweist. Dies geht meist schnell und erst dann stellt sich heraus, dass der Scheck von “Mr. Bryan” nicht gedeckt ist.
Was es alles gibt. Auch bei mir ist Dr. Bryan via e-mail vorstellig geworden. So stellen sich die Vorteile des Web dar. Man tauscht sich über kleine Betrüger aus!!

ebenfalls eine Anfrage für eine christliche Reisegruppe erhalten, die angeblich nach Berlin wollten. Leider kommen solche Anfragen – fast immer mit einer Adress-Angabe in Groß-Britannien – mehrfach im Jahr. Man erkennt sie spätestens daran, dass auf ein Angebot ein standardisierte Antwort kommt, die eigentlich auf das Angebot nicht passt.
Und generell kann man sagen: Hände weg, wenn man mit einem Check bezahlt werden soll. Das ist heute nicht mehr üblich, insbesondere in der EU.

Unermüdlich diese Betrüger… wir bekommen dauernd solche Anfragen. Einmal von Dr. Bryan, dann von Carl Williams, der dann im Mailtext auf einmal Mike Williams heißt. Man kann nur einen Tip geben : FINGER WEG, GLEICH ABLEHNEN ODER NICHT ANTWORTEN.

Guten Tag zusammen,
mit dieser email scheint es ja schon eine ganze Weile zu funktionieren…
Natürlich ist man bei solchen emails vorgewarnt, gerade dann wenn man täglich mit online und email Reservierungen zu tun hat und sich durch Erfahrung, Medien und online Inhalte ganz gut in der Welt der betrügerischen emails auskennt.
Gerade wie viele hier schon erkannt haben, stehen in dieser email (verglichen mit allen emails die sonst unser Hotel erreichen) die wir heute bekommen haben einfach zu wenig Details drin, der Zeitraum ist ungewöhnlich lang und die Personenanzahl wird nicht korrekt genannt.
Klar will man sein Hotel oder Geschäft gern ausgebucht sehen, aber da sollte man nunmal Prioritäten setzen!
Ich Antworte grundsätzlich nicht auf solche emails denn der Absender freut sich, da er dadurch die beste Sendebestätigung bekommt.
Ich kann jedem hier nur raten abzuwegen und dort mit dem bestem Wissen und Gewissen dran zu gehen und unbedingt vorher Google zu fragen welche emails man beantwortet und welche nicht.
Bei Fragen zu solchen Mails könnt Ihr mir auch gern eine email schreiben (ich habe mittlerweile ein ganzes Archiv solcher mails gesammelt)

Bekannte von mir in einem Hotel, deren EDV ich betreue, haben mal auf so eine Mail geantwortet: Scheck mit zu hohem Betrag erhalten. Ich konnte sie rechtzeitig darauf hinweisen (u. a. mittels Google-Fundstellen mit gleichlautenden Texten, sogar identischen Personenlisten, das sowas nur betrug sein kann. Das einzige wa man mit dem Scheck machen kann: Verwendung in den früher bekannten Herzchen in der Tür. mehr ist die ganze sache definitiv nicht wert.
Zumal ein Teil solcher Mails sich auf dubiose Ursprungsländer zurückverfolgen läßt; die meisten Telefonnummer, sofern sie angegeben sind, sind VOIP-Nummern, nicht geographisch im entsprechenden Land zuordenbar, können also auch bei der bekannten Connection in Nigeria oder sonst wo angenommen werden.

danke für diese Seite – habe auch die Mail bekommen und obwohl im Spam-Ordner brav beantwortet… nachdem jetzt aber ein bisschen unverständlich und dubios ein Scheck mit 1000% höherem Betrag als die eigentliche Buchungssumme geschickt werden sollte wurde ich doch skeptisch und habe mal gegoogelt.
Kann jemand sagen, ob es wirklich sinnvoll ist, diese Masche bei der Polizei anzuzeigen?? Bringt es denn überhaupt was??
Schade um meine bisher investierte Zeit.

However a Certified Bank Cheque of (€ 6,000 Euro) was earlier made out by the Authorities who are sponsoring the guest who are visiting. The Cheque payment was meant to cover for cost their accommodation, car rental services, and other necessary arrangements for all the 10 persons who were initially meant to come for this trip together, but due to some circumstances the other 7 persons will not be able to make the trip anymore, so only 3 persons are now coming.
I will not be able to make a deposit seperately because the all the money meant for paying for their accomodation come in one cheque package, Therefore i have been instructed to send you the Cheque, so when you receive the check payment you are required to deduct the cost of your accomodation services and keep the balance of their money which has already been designated by sponsors for other logistics arrangements for the guest. I will give you further instructions on how to use the balance. I need you to confirm this and provide the following information:

Diese email ist sehr unpersönlich, man kann erahnen, dass es an sehr viele Personen versandt wurde.
Ein andere andere, sehr unseriöse Variante, nach dem erstellen einer Offerte kam diese e-mail. Ich denke nun, da wir geschrieben haben, wir akzeptieren keine Checks sind wir nicht mehr interessant.

Die Masche läuft immer noch : heute 20.09.2012 habe ich die selbe Nachricht von ‘Bryan Agency’ erhalten.
Ist es denn nicht möglich solche Betrüger (dank IP-Adresse) zu fassen ?
Habe ebenfalls eine Anfrage erhalten die ich ebenfalls für Seriös gehalten habe, da Sie mir ordnungsgemäß auf meine Nachfragen geantwortet haben.
Und gelegendlich erhält man ja auch von Reservierungen einen Check als Zahlungsmittel.
Als Sie mir geschrieben haben, dass Sie einen Check in Höhe von 8000,- € von Ihrem Sponsor erhalten haben, bin ich nachdenklich geworden.
Ich habe ihm den Gesamtbetrag der Übernachtungen incl. Gebühren wessen bei der Einlösung des Checks anfallen mitgeteilt haben.
Nun sollten Sie einen Check in meiner geforderten höhe zusenden. Sobald das Geld auf meinem Konto ist, würde ich die Reservierung bestätigen!
Bei Zahlungen mit einem Check fordere ich generell eine Anzahlung von 40% bis 100%!
