Browser-Stats

datePosted on 18:41, January 9th, 2006 by Stefan

According to http://marketshare.hitslink.com/report.aspx?qprid=0
the market share of MS-IE has dropped to some 85%. A german publisher of tech-magazines has a different stat: http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/68135
- On their site, 44% of the visitors used Firefox. The difference comes from the different audiences using the polled sites.

Although I am doing stats on my server only since 2 days (some
54 hours…), I thought it would be interesting to see the differences
on three of the sites I am hosting: Linuxbasics.org, Krone-Neuenburg.de and stefan.waidele.info

Linuxbasics.org - A Linux-oriented tech-site

My guess: The high rate of “unknown” Browsers is probably due to the raised level of concern for privacy and security among linux-users and most of all linux-distributors.

User-Agent linuxbasics.org
unknown 69.4%
Firefox / Mozilla / Netscape 16.6% / 4.2% / 0.7%
MS Internet Explorer 6.1%
Konqueror 2.2%
Safari 0.3%
Opera 0.2%

Krone-Neuenburg.de - A consumer site

User-Agent krone-neuenburg.de
MS Internet Explorer 80.2%
Firefox / Mozilla / Netscape 16.1% / 0.5% / < 0.0%
Safari 1.5%
Konqueror < 0.0%

stefan.waidele.info - My blog

There have been more visits to this site than I expected, but not
enough to really show the big picture…

User-Agent stefan.waidele.info
Konqueror 33.3
Firefox / Mozilla / Netscape 23.8% / 4.7% / 16.6%
MS Internet Explorer 21.4 %
